Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 25)— Sixteen more guests at a Caloocan resort caught operating earlier this month despite quarantine restrictions tested positive for COVID-19, local officials confirmed Tuesday.

This brings the total number of infected individuals present at the Gubat sa Ciudad resort gathering to 20.

The Caloocan City Information Office told CNN Philippines the patients are asymptomatic and have been transferred to quarantine facilities. The LGU has so far traced 217 guests of the resort, authorities added.

On May 9, a throng of people were seen swimming in the resort, photos of which went viral on social media. This was amid the implementation of the stricter modified enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila.

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan has since ordered the closure of the resort, and its owners and a local official have been slapped with charges.
