Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 23) — Former beauty queen Laura Lehmann and basketball player Von Pessumal revealed on Sunday that they got married earlier this year.
In an Instagram post, Lehmann posted photos of her and Pessumal in a civil wedding ceremony.
“Quietly got married earlier this year. And now, I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you make me. I love you so much,” she said.
“This was the best day of my life & I will elope with you any time, any place… even in a small room behind city hall. I’m so, so happy to be your wife,” Lehmann added.
Pessumal also shared posts on social media about their wedding.
“Having you in my life has been nothing short of perfection. It’s honestly like playing with a great point guard; if I do my job well I know my team will win. I will love you every day and always,” he said on Instagram.
The couple have been together since their days at the Ateneo de Manila University. They got engaged in May last year.
Before being crowned Miss World Philippines in 2017, Lehmann served as a courtside reporter in University Athletics Association of the Philippines games. Pessumal played for the Ateneo Blue Eagles and is now part of the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Basketball Association.
