Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 18)— Two Filipino beauty queens have graced the cover of an India-based lifestyle magazine.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong were featured on the pages of L’Officiel India, which credited the two for “creating history” in their respective pageants.
“[Wurtzbach and Ong] have sizzled at shoots, raked millions of followers, and are also doing tremendous work on social issues,” L’Officiel India wrote on its Instagram page.
The magazine cited Wurtzbach’s stint as UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for the Asia and Pacific, as well as Ong’s role as an “eco champion for the environment.”
Wurtzbach made history as the third Filipino to bring home the coveted Miss Universe crown in 2015. That same year, Ong also scored another prestigious title for the Philippines by winning the environmental-themed Miss Earth pageant.
