Fire breaks out at Pasig City General Hospital’s supply room

“The 4th floor of our (building) C was the one affected. That is the supply room. (The) hemodialysis (unit) is also housed there but was not affected by the fire,” Samonte told CNN Philippines.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 12) — A fire hit a supply room on the fourth floor of the Pasig City General Hospital on Wednesday, PCGH administrator Arlene Samonte said.

“No injuries and no major equipment/supplies hit,” Sotto tweeted.

The blaze reached the third of a ten-level alarm at 11:09 a.m. and was declared under control at 1:19 p.m., the Bureau of Fire Protection reported. It was finally put out at 3 p.m. At the third alarm level, the BFP estimates 12 fire trucks are needed to extinguish the blaze.

No one was hurt in the incident, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto said, adding that no major equipment or supplies were affected. He said 14 patients have been transferred to other medical facilities in Pasig.

The BFP initially said the blaze occurred on the second floor, but later clarified it was on the fourth.
