Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Secretary Adelino Sitoy dies

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 15) – Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Secretary Adelino Sitoy has passed away. He was 85.

Malacañang announced Sitoy’s death on Thursday.

“Sec. Sitoy was instrumental in the passage of the key legislative reform measures of the Duterte Administration. As head of PLLO, he made sure there is stronger Executive-Legislative collaboration to bring about genuine and lasting change through legislation,” the Palace added.

However, no details were provided on the cause of his death.

President Rodrigo Duterte and other Cabinet members offered a moment of silence to pray for Sitoy during a taped national address.

Sitoy is the third Cabinet member to die this year. Last January, Presidential Anti-Crime Commission chairperson Dante Jimenez died of aortic aneurysm and Metro Manila Development Authority chairperson Danilo Lim died of cardiac arrest.

Prior to his Cabinet post, Sitoy served as vice mayor of Cordova, Cebu in 2016. He also served as the town’s mayor from 2007 to 2016.
