LIST: ECQ subsidy in Greater Manila area

Pasay

Each qualified resident may receive cash or in-kind assistance of ₱1,000 each or up to a maximum ₱4,000 for a family. The amount is described as measly compared to the ₱5,000 to ₱8,000 worth of subsidy provided under the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act or Bayanihan 1 in 2020 amid the raging health crisis.

The following are Metro Manila LGUs that have posted information on the schedules of their subsidy distribution as of April 11, Sunday:

Caloocan

The local government of Caloocan started distributing cash aid to qualified beneficiaries on April 7.

Mayor Oscar Malapitan reminded residents to wait for a text message confirming their reference number and schedule before heading to their designated sites to claim their subsidy. Over 1,500 residents per venue will be accommodated per day.

Social Welfare Secretary Wendel Avisado and Interior Secretary Jonathan Malaya spearheaded the first day of cash payout in Parañaque on April 7.

Mandaluyong

Mandaluyong City posted last Tuesday a list of residents eligible for cash aid. Announcements on the schedule of distribution will be done by their respective barangay offices, the city government said.

Manila City

The local government of Manila started the rollout of its cash aid for residents on April 6. Distribution is scheduled per district. Members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association are also included in the list.

Some 1,800 beneficiaries were initially identified, but the city government said over 155,000 households are being targeted to get aid.

Parañaque

Pasay City Public Information Office announced on Tuesday that residents must coordinate with their barangays to check their eligibility for cash aid. A schedule for payout will be provided.

For senior citizens and persons with disability, representatives of the City Treasury Office will go to their residences to deliver their aid.

San Juan City

Quezon City

Quezon City started the distribution of its cash aid to 40 barangays which were directly hit by stricter lockdown rules. Residents must coordinate with their barangays to check their eligibility.

Only 2,000 beneficiaries can be accommodated for each distribution center per day, starting 11 a.m.

Taguig

The local government of Taguig also started the provision of cash assistance to its residents on Wednesday.

Distribution is also scheduled per barangay. Qualified beneficiaries must enforce health protocols when getting to their designated sites.

San Juan City started the rollout of its financial aid on April 8, Thursday at 10 a.m., according to Mayor Francis Zamora. The first distribution took place at the St. Joseph Barangay Hall.

Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado has said 11.2 million Metro Manila residents will receive the supplemental aid, along with 3 million residents of Bulacan, 2.6 million from Rizal, 2.7 million from Laguna, and 3.4 million from Cavite.

Zamora said the list of beneficiaries was from the Social Welfare Department and covers beneficiaries of last year’s cash aid program, as well as those who were waitlisted, and families included under the 4Ps program.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 11) — Local government units in Metro Manila and four adjacent provinces started providing emergency subsidy last week to their residents as they continued to be under enhanced community quarantine.

Almost 23 million beneficiaries from low-income households in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal — collectively known as the NCR Plus — are expected to benefit from the government’s social amelioration program.

Each head of the family will receive P1,000 for each member of the family up to a maximum of four members or a maximum of P4,000 per household. Up to 50 individuals will be allowed in the distribution venue every hour to avoid overcrowding, the mayor added.

Marikina

Marikina Public Information Office has posted the schedule of distribution and beneficiaries who will get the subsidy for 14 barangays from April 12 to 15.

The local government already started the rollout of aid for residents of Barangay Kalumpang and San Roque on April 9.

Pateros

The Pateros local government will start providing cash aid to its beneficiaries on April 12, according to Mayor Miguel Ponce.

Valenzuela

Qualified beneficiaries from Valenzuela may go to their designated sites to get their subsidy. Schedule of payout for each barangay is posted on the local government’s Facebook page. Rollout started on April 8.

Other LGUs in Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan have also started distributing aid to their residents onsite. However, cities like Biñan and Sta. Rosa in Laguna opted to conduct a house-to-house distribution to reduce transmission. Residents must only provide a photocopy of their ID and cash aid forms once the distribution team drops by their residence.
