This day last year – President Duterte announced the entire Luzon, home to 57 million people, would be placed under an enhanced community quarantine. This meant people should stay home and observe health protocols to help flatten the curve.
How does the government fare in responding to the crisis?
Our AC Nicholls has this story.
In our March 16 news programs, CNN Philippines reported that health groups gave the government a failing grade in its response to COVID-19.
It gave the impression that the Healthcare Professionals Alliance Against COVID-19 (HPAAC) was one of those groups.
We stand corrected. The HPAAC did not say that the government failed in its response to the pandemic. Rather, it recommended some measures to stem the spread of the virus.
We sincerely apologize to the HPAAC for the confusion and misunderstanding our report may have generated.
We have already made the correction and revised the news report in our digital platform. Our goal is to always provide news stories that are accurate, fair, and balanced.
