
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 7) – Walt Disney Studios is searching for a Filipino or Filipino-American who can play a lola or grandmother for an upcoming film.
In a casting call posted in Project Casting, casting director Sarah Finn is looking for female applicants aged 50 to 90 years old, can speak English fluently, comfortable flying to Atlanta where the filming location is, and authorized to work in the United States (US citizen, green card holder, or O-1 visa holder). No acting experience is required.
“We are committed to diverse, inclusive and authentic casting. We highly encourage performers who are Filipino or of Filipino descent to apply,” read the post for the casting call.
“For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to disability, race, age, color, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity, or any other basis prohibited by law, unless otherwise specifically indicated,” it added.
The filming for the role will start mid-February.
Finn has been the casting director for The Avengers movies and other Marvel films.
The title of the project was not yet disclosed.
