BGC-Ortigas bridge to be finished in first half of 2021

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 7) — The construction of the Bonifacio Global City-Ortigas bridge is set to be completed in the first half of 2021, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said Thursday.

“Sa first half of the year, matatapos na po ang BGC-Ortigas bridge,” Villar said in a briefing.

Villar earlier said once this infrastructure project is completed, travel time from Taguig to Pasig will be cut to 12 minutes from one hour.

DPWH previously noted the BGC-Ortigas bridge is one of the 22 projects that aim to decongest EDSA.

Other infrastructure projects are expected to be completed this year, including the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge connecting the cities of Makati and Mandaluyong, and the road complex in Marawi City, the DPWH chief said.

“Sa 2021, andami naming ide-deliver na projects. Magiging historic po itong year na ito,” he said.
