₱1M worth of shabu seized in Maguindanao

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 7) — Authorities have arrested two men in a buy-bust operation in Maguindanao and confiscated from them some 250 grams of shabu worth ₱1 million, the military’s Western Mindanao Command said Thursday.

WestMinCom said in a statement that the illegal substance was conficated during a joint operation on Wednesday led by the military, police, and regional drug enforcement agents at the public market of Barangay Dalican in Datu Odin Sinsuat town.

The two arrested suspects were identified by the authorities as Sabir Tahir Omar, a.k.a. Bertos Taher Omar, and Enar Lumawan Bulilo, a.k.a. Jabbar.

“Bought from the said personalities during the buy-bust operation… were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing more or less 250 grams white crystalline substance believed to be shabu placed inside a green backpack,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., commander of the WestMinCom.

Aside from shabu, ₱600,000 in cash was also confiscated from the suspects, the statement said.

Omar and Bulilo were brought to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s regional office for proper disposition and filing of cases.
