Navotas LGU workers to receive ₱10k incentive

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 30) – Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco has signed two ordinances granting a ₱10,000 service recognition incentive to the city’s regular and contractual employees.

According to City Ordinance Nos. 2020-44 and 2020-45, the incentive only applies to the 534 regular and 1,832 contractual employees who have been working with the local government for at least three months.

“Our employees have been instrumental in our fight against COVID-19. Their commitment to fulfilling their duties despite risks enabled us to respond effectively to the pandemic and manage our COVID situation,” said Tiangco in a statement.

The city government also granted recently ₱5,000 in cash assistance to each of the 208 members of Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.

Last Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte issued an administrative order that will grant a one-time gratuity pay, not exceeding ₱3,000, for contractual and job order government employees.

Duterte also encouraged local government units to grant gratuity pay to their informal workers.
