Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 30) — Weren’t able to sign up for the 2022 national elections this year? Well, mark your calendars: voter registration will resume on January 4, 2021.
“If you missed the last day of #VoterReg2020, don’t despair just yet,” said Commission on Elections spokesperson James Jimenez in a tweet on Wednesday, adding registration will resume on the said date.
Comelec reopened the period for registration on Sept. 1. This year, the public had until Dec. 29 to sign up for the polls.
Voter registration is conducted Mondays to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Fridays dedicated for disinfection unless the concerned local government unit assigns a different day for it.
In November, the poll body opened its online portal, iRehistro for voters’ registration and updating of voter records. While it allows eligible Filipinos to turn in application forms online, registrants must still appear personally before their respective local Comelec office or for overseas Filipinos, their concerned Philippine embassy or consulate.
If you missed the last day of #VoterReg2020, don’t despair just yet. #VoterRegistration will resume January 4, 2021. #MakeAPlanToRegister then. #MagparehistroKa!
