“We are not yet done…we have to pave the way for engineers, scientists and technical team to come in. So we need these kinds of people to be present to set up shop,” he said. “So, of course, we will be getting engineers and scientists that’s coming up soon.”

Marciano advised the public to watch out for these subsequent posts in their website and job searching platforms soon for more details.

“I can say that we will be hiring more than 100 engineers and scientists,” he added.

Marciano said they are looking for people who will help develop relevant technological applications for the Philippines, such as satellites and data services, as well as an infrastructure for policy-making and other related programs.

In August 2019, President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Philippine Space Act into law, creating the PhilSA, with a goal of developing space technologies for use in national security, hazard management, climate studies, space research and development, space industry capacity building, space education and awareness, and international cooperation.

On Thursday, PhilSA opened 22 job positions for legal assistants, administrative and human resource management officers, and information officers. The agency is also hiring an accountant, a lawyer, budget officer, cashier, records officer, and senior science research specialist.

Applications for these posts can be made via careers@philsa.gov.ph until Nov. 29. Documents that must be submitted include a letter of intent addressed to Marciano, an updated personal data sheet, scholastic records, certificate of eligibility/license/rating, training certificate, and employment certificates.
