PUV operators to get one-time ₱6,500 subsidy, more bus routes to open

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 17) — Public utility vehicle operators are set to receive a one-time cash aid worth ₱6,500 per unit within the week, Malacañang said on Tuesday.

Bus, P2P bus, jeepney, UV Express, and FilCab operators will receive the direct cash subsidy from the Department of Transportation and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). LTFRB said there is ₱1.16 billion allocated in the program under the Bayanihan to Recover As One Act.

The LTFRB said the subsidy will be distributed through the Landbank of the Philippine Pantawid Pasada Program cash cards, deposit or withdrawal via a Landbank account, or other existing bank account.

Meanwhile, more provincial buses going to and from Western Visayas will be allowed to ply the roads starting Wednesday.

The following routes will be opened:

1. Kalibo, Aklan – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal, Laguna

2. Malay, Aklan – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal, Laguna

3. San Jose, Antique – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal, Laguna

4. Roxas City, Capiz – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal, Laguna

5. Estancia, Iloilo – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal, Laguna

6. Iloilo City, Iloilo – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal, Laguna

7. Miag-Ao, Iloilo – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal, Laguna
