Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 7) — For Journey frontman Arnel Pineda, this coming Christmas is all about being a Santa Claus to people around you.
In an interview with CNN Philippines on Saturday, Pineda shared the message of his as yet untitled Christmas album: “I’m trying to send the message to all of us na in our own little way, pwede tayong maging Santa sa mga mahal natin sa buhay, maski sa mga strangers na nakikita natin na nahihirapan.”
[Translation: I’m trying to send the message to all of us that in our own little way, we can be a Santa to our loved ones, even to strangers who are having a difficult time.]
For the singer-songwriter, everyone has a part to play, especially during this pandemic, adding that it’s all about moving forward and being productive.
“We really have to find ways to be productive in a positive way para maka contribute or maka inspire tayo sa mga taong nakakaramdam ng mga negativities during this pandemic.”

Pineda did not mention a release date for his album, although he revealed that he will have a virtual concert early next year.
