Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 11) — President Rodrigo Duterte’s weekly address discussing government’s response to the COVID-19 crisis has been moved to Oct. 14, his spokesperson said on Monday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the announcement after informing reporters that the regular Monday address would not be happening as the President would be meeting with the Cabinet this afternoon and they have a “very long agenda.”

In his regular briefing last week, Roque said Duterte called for a full Cabinet meeting to discuss ways to open more businesses and other sectors while protecting the public against COVID- 19.

Roque said the scheduled meeting came after the recommendation of Acting Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Chua to let more businesses open and allow establishments to increase their operating capacity as long as the healthcare system can attend to severe and critical COVID-19 cases.
