Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 15) — Rain is likely and could be heavy at times in most parts of the country due to a low-pressure area off Catarman, Northern Samar, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.

People in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Aurora province, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with isolated rains Tuesday, weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said in a 5 a.m. briefing.

The rest of Luzon will also have cloudy skies and rains due to thunderstorms, Aurelio added.

The forecaster then warned against possible flooding and landslide once it rains heavily, or for a long time.

The LPA may develop into a tropical depression by Wednesday or Thursday. It will be named “Leon,” the 12th tropical cyclone to enter PAGASA’s monitoring area this year.
