Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 13) — Investigations into the reported anomalies in the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. will continue even after the task force submits its report to President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra says.

“I can’t say our investigation is over. We’ve only just begun,” he said Sunday, noting that they only wound up their initial probe as they are required to send an output to Duterte in 30 days.

Guevarra, who heads Task Force PhilHealth, said the draft report contains mostly the general environment that has “enabled” fraud and corruption within state-run health insurer. Composite teams will still perform their respective tasks related to the investigations and filing of cases against the concerned officials of the embattled agency.

Guevarra added: “Our composite teams will continue their ongoing investigations and special audits and file legal actions as they finish one case after another.”

In a separate interview with CNN Philippines’ Newsroom Weekend, Justice Undersecretary and Spokesperson Markk Perete also said that they are already gathering all the comments from the task force prior to their submission of their report.

“We are now gathering the final comments and suggestions regarding the draft report,” he said on Sunday. “We anticipate the Task Force will be ready to submit the report to the President by [Monday].”

Task Force PhilHealth, convened by the DOJ, is composed of top officials from the Office of the Ombudsman, Commission on Audit, Civil Service Commission, Office of the Executive Secretary, Office of the President, and the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission.
