
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 16) — The mayor of a town in Samar province was shot Thursday morning, the police said, prompting Philippine National Police Chief PGEN Archie Gamboa to order an immediate investigation.
A police report said Tagapul-an Mayor Vicente Limpiado Jr. was shot at the back by an unidentified suspect at 8:50 a.m. at the entrance of his farm. He was rushed to a rural health unit.
Police have yet to determine the motive.
