Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 30) — A father and his 10-year-old son died in a fire that hit their home in Pasig City early Tuesday, the city’s authorities said.
Three others suffered burn injuries in the blaze that broke out shortly after 1 a.m. at a two-storey house in Villa Tupas, Barangay San Joaquin, the Bureau of Fire Protection in Pasig said in a report.
The fire reached first alarm — meaning four firetrucks were dispatched — and was put out at 1:50 a.m.
Arson investigators are still identifying the cause of the incident and assessing the damage. The fire affected only one house on a road where homes are built right next to each other, mostly separated only by walls.
