LOOK: Kai Sotto gets court mural in Batangas

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 24)— Support continues to pile up for NBA G League-bound Kai Sotto.

The 7-foot-2 wunderkind was recently featured in a basketball court mural in Batangas, courtesy of rapper and court artist Mike Swift.

The hardcourt— located in Swift’s hometown in San Juan, Batangas— shows a half-body portrait of the 18-year-old basketball star. The mural took three days to finish.

“For all the hard work Kai has been doing, I wanted to let him know that we are here to support and we believe that he will be the first-ever local Pinoy in the NBA,” Swift said.

Sotto— who bagged Most Valuable Player plums during his stint at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Juniors division— left the Philippines last year to pursue his dream of playing for the American professional basketball league.

In May, NBA insiders reported that Sotto has decided to skip collegiate basketball to become the first international draft prospect to sign a deal with the G league program.
