Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 16) — The Taguig City government ordered a lockdown on Purok 5 and Purok 6 of Lower Bicutan beginning Wednesday 6 p.m. until next month due to a “clustering” of COVID-19 infections.
Local officials said Tuesday enhanced community quarantine will be in place in these areas until July 1 at 6 p.m., limiting movement of residents to buying essential goods.
In an advisory, the city government said residents leaving their homes to buy essentials would need their quarantine passes while employees who reside in the areas will be allowed to go to work.
“All residents of Purok 5 & 6 are advised to use the next 24 hours to inform their employers and other family members of the localized quarantine,” said the city’s official Twitter account.
It did not mention how many cases were found in the areas but “active case finding” will be enforced during the quarantine.
As of Monday, the Department of Health recorded 562 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taguig, including 46 that were recorded in the past two weeks.
