
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 28) – A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted San Fernando, La Union on Thursday afternoon, with tremors felt in Pangasinan, Bulacan and Quezon City.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the tectonic quake was recorded in the provincial capital at 1:17 p.m., with Intensity IV or moderately strong shaking felt in San Fernando, Caba and Balaoan, La Union; Labrador and Bolinao, Pangasinan; and Dagupan City.
Weak movement was also logged in Urdaneta City and Villasis, Pangasinan; Baguio City; Quezon City; Marikina City; Obando, Bulacan at Intensity III, while Intensity II tremors were felt in parts of Metro Manila; in Cainta, Rizal; San Fernando, Pampanga; as well as in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. The movement was felt in the cities of Valenzuela, Navotas, Pasay, Parañaque, and Manila, Phivolcs said.

Intensity III: Dagupan City
Intensity II: Vigan City, Baguio City, San Jose in Nueva Ecija
Intensity I: Cabanatuan City; Guagua, Pampanga; Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte; Palayan City; Baguio City; San Ildefonso, Bulacan; Baler, Aurora
State seismologists expect aftershocks, but said damage to property is unlikely. The earthquake struck at a depth of 57 kilometers.

The agency initially reported the magnitude at 5.1, but later revised it to 5.2.
