
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 6) — Two more cops catch the coronavirus disease, while the total number of confirmed cases in the police ranks climbs to 114, the Philippine National Police said Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the total number of deaths in the PNP now stands at four, including one new death on April 13.
The two additional cases are a 32-year-old and 29-year-old policemen, who are both assigned in Metro Manila.
The cop who recently succumbed to the respiratory disease was a 48-year-old policeman from Parañaque. He also suffered from kidney failure.
There is now a total of 369 PNP personnel who are considered probable Persons Under Investigation (PUI), while 375 are suspected persons under investigation
A total of 1,217 personnel, including 523 probable PUIs, 692 suspected PUIs, have also completed their home quarantine.
The Philippine National Police Patient Care Center has admitted 37 PNP personnel who are listed as PUIs, and who are also undergoing self-quarantine.
Nationwide, there are now 10,004 COVID-19 cases, including 1,506 recoveries, and 658 deaths, the Department of Health reported on Wednesday.
