
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 6) — Thirty-eight more Filipinos abroad contracted the coronavirus disease on Wednesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed.
The total number of Filipinos with COVID-19 worldwide is now at 1,905.
Meanwhile, recoveries continue to outnumber deaths, with 523 patients surviving the viral disease, with 215 succumbing to it.
The highest number of infections is recorded in Europe, where 388 Filipinos are currently undergoing treatment.
On the other hand, the highest number of recoveries come from the Asia Pacific Region, with 210 Filipinos having fully recovered.
The total number of Filipinos with COVID-19 worldwide is now at 1,905.
Meantime, overseas Filipino workers and other passengers from abroad will be allowed entry to the Philippines starting Friday, according to Secretary Carlito Galvez, chief implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID-19.
The DFA has advised returning Filipinos affected by the suspension of flights to contact the nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate where they are located.
The Philippines now has 10,004 local COVID-19 cases, with 1,506 recoveries, and 658 deaths.
