
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 25) – The Department of Foreign Affairs reported on Saturday that 152 more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for COVID-19, as the number of infected rises to 1,337.
The DFA also recorded seven additional deaths among overseas Filipinos, raising the total to 184.
Meanwhile, some 328 Filipinos in other countries have recovered from the disease, as the DFA listed nine additional recoveries.
A total of 825 Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment for the virus.
There are 43 countries where Filipinos infected with COVID-19 are currently located.
Twelve of the infected are in the Asia-Pacific Region, where 327 cases have been recorded. Two of them have died while 198 have recovered.
In the Middle East and Africa, 270 Filipinos have contracted the virus in 12 countries. Only eleven have recuperated, with 14 deaths recorded.
In Europe, the DFA tallied 413 cases in 14 countries, with 44 recoveries and 63 fatalities.
In the Americas, there are 327 infected Filipinos in four countries, with 75 recoveries and 105 deaths.
Globally, the coronavirus has infected 2,812,557 individuals, according to the latest count from the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
It also listed a total of 197,217 deaths and 794,377 recoveries from the disease worldwide.
The United States remains the country with the most number of COVID-19 cases with 905,333. Italy still has the highest death toll at 25,969, while Germany has the most number of recoveries in the world with 109,800.
