Three more Filipinos abroad die from COVID-19, confirmed cases now at 990

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 20) – Three more Filipinos abroad have succumbed to COVID-19, bringing the total number to 143, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed on Monday.

The department reiterated its commitment to provide assistance to coronavirus-infected Filipinos abroad, now nearing the 1,000-mark with 990 cases.

There are currently 42 countries and regions with confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus worldwide, the DFA said.

As of Monday, over 2.3 million people have been infected with COVID-19 globally. Over 164,000 have died, while at least 611,000 people have recovered from the deadly disease.
