Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 27) – Another Department of Health official has tested positive for COVID-19, DOH Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire confirmed Friday.
“There is a DOH official who is positive and has mild symptoms of COVID-19,” Vergeire said in her daily press briefing.
Vergeire assured the official has been treated with proper medical care and is in stable condition.
Earlier this month, one other official of the department tested positive for the viral disease, prompting DOH Sec. Francisco Duque III and other officials to undergo home quarantine. The DOH also disinfected its office after the infection.
The department also announced Friday 96 new COVID-19 cases, along with nine deaths and three recoveries.
The confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 803, with 54 deaths and 31 recoveries.
