Cavite reports first COVID-19 fatality

CNN Philippines (March 21) — A 76-year old male was the first to die of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 in Cavite province, Governor Jonvic Remulla has reported.

The patient was admitted to an undisclosed medical facility in the province, Remulla said in an update posted on Facebook on Friday.

He was among the three latest cases of the fast-spreading viral disease in the province. Cavite has recorded 10 cases as of Friday.

With the development, the Cavite governor reminded senior citizens to refrain from going out and “bringing home the virus” with them.

Remulla has ordered the full implementation of community quarantine and curfew from 8 pm to 5 am in the province.
