Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 18) — A Filipino woman in Athens, Greece tested positive for coronavirus disease or COVID-19, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday. This is the first case in Greece involving a Filipino.
She is currently under home quarantine and reportedly showing mild symptoms, the DFA added in a statement.
“Embassy is in close coordination with the local health authorities in Greece to assure that she is given maximum care and support,” the agency said.
The European country currently has 331 confirmed cases including four deaths. The World Health Organization earlier declared Europe as the new epicenter of the pandemic after it reported more cases than the rest of the world combined, apart from China.
