Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 17) – Another House of Representatives employee has been diagnosed with coronavirus disease or COVID-19, according to House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales.
“We were advised that another employee from our Printing Service tested positive for COVID-19. He last reported for work on March 5. He went on leave on March 6, and was admitted to the hospital on March 7,” Montales said in a message shared Tuesday by AKO Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin.
The employee was first diagnosed with dengue but was later confirmed to have the viral disease, the House secretary general said.
“Let us keep praying for his recovery and for his family’s health,” Montales added.
All personnel of the House Printing Service have been under quarantine since last week after a member of the staff tested positive for COVID-19. That employee died on Sunday.
Two new cases of COVID-19 were also reported by the Department of Health on Monday, raising the country’s total cases to 142, including 12 deaths.
Globally, the virus has infected more than 180,000 people and killed over 7,000 according to the Johns Hopkins University’s tracker.
