Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that Duterte’s visit will be moved to a later date instead.
Duterte was supposed to make a tour around the country’s top destinations to help boost local tourism. This will be his first time to visit Boracay since it was temporarily closed to the public for rehabilitation in 2018.
The Presidential Security Group recently implemented a “no touch” policy to the President. Everyone who works closely with him will be screened and tested for any symptoms of the coronavirus disease.
The PSG will also assess the events that the President will attend and they might be cancelled for his safety.
