Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 4) — The first Filipino to test positive for coronavirus infection in Singapore has recovered, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
In a statement, the DFA confirmed that the patient “has been given a clean bill of health and was discharged from the hospital” on February 28.
Two other Filipinos – domestic workers aged 34 and 41 – are still under treatment after contracting the virus.
Singapore now has 32 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease officially known as COVID-19. Of this number, 25 are in stable condition, while seven are in “critical” condition, according to Singapore’s Minstry of Health. Seventy-eight other people who previously fell ill have recovered.
The new coronavirus has killed more than 3,200 people, mostly in China, since the outbreak began in Wuhan City in Hubei province December 2019. It has spread to more than 70 countries and territories, with over 92,000 people infected.
In the Philippines, three Chinese visitors have been infected with the virus – one of them died, while the remaining two have since recovered and left the country.
