Nueva Ecija (CNN Philippines, February 29) – A lawyer was shot to death inside his office in Cabanatuan City on Friday, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Nueva Ecija has said.
IBP Nueva Ecija Chapter President Wilson Chua said in a statement Saturday Atty. Bayani Dalangin, whom he described as a ‘good, brilliant and respected Ecijiano lawyer’ was killed in Talavera town.
Chua then condemned the attack not only against Dalangin but also on the legal order and justice system.
“It is an outrage and mockery on the competence and integrity of the pillars of judicial system, clearly taunting on the ability of law enforcements to curtail dastardly criminal acts like this.”
The IBP-Nueva Ecija also called on the Philippine National Police to bring Dalangin’s perpetrators to justice as soon as possible.
It then asked their chapter officers and members to pray for his eternal repose and the family he left behind.
Dalangin said the slain lawyer’s necrological rites will be at the Serenity Gardens, Cabanatuan City on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
