CNN Philippines correspondent Carolyn Bonquin contributed to this report.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 24) — Dozens of artists and employees working for media giant ABS-CBN Corporation gathered early Monday morning to pray for the branches of the government who hold the key for the network’s franchise renewal.

ABS-CBN stars JM de Guzman, Arjo Atayde, Melai Cantiveros, Jolina Magdangal, and Karla Estrada, among others, joined the gathering dubbed as “Walk of Faith.”

They walked around the network’s compound seven times, praying for different people and institutions for each round.

They prayed for President Rodrigo Duterte, who has personally vowed to put the Kapamilya channel and its subsidiaries out of business.

They also offered prayers for the ABS-CBN management and their leaders who are going to the Senate hearing today. They will also pray for the country’s senators.

Also included in their prayers are the Supreme Court, where a quo warranto petition is filed, and the House of Representatives, where bills seeking to renew the TV giant’s franchise for another 25 years are languishing. The existing franchise expires on March 30.

They also prayed for all employees of ABS-CBN, who are at risk of losing their jobs, and for the entire nation and all ABS-CBN viewers around the world.

Prayer chains will also be held by the different departments of ABS-CBN throughout the day.

After the “Walk of Faith,” they gathered at the ABS-CBN Center Road to watch the Senate hearing set at 10 a.m.
