Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 20) — A new era began in University of the East (UE), as Jack Santiago was introduced as the new Red Warriors head coach.
Santiago was the long-time assistant coach of Franz Pumaren since their days with La Salle up to Adamson. The two won five UAAP titles in a span of more than two decades together.
Santiago replaces Lawrence Chongson as the the Red Warriors’ chief tactician.
It will be a tough task for Santiago as he will try to end UE’s 11-year Final Four drought in the men’s basketball tournament.
He met the team Monday at the school’s gym.
