In her Instagram post on Thursday, Alex shared a photo of her hugging the Lipa, Batangas councilor with what appears to be an engagement ring on her right finger.
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 17) – On her 32nd birthday, Alex Gonzaga revealed to the public that she is now engaged to her politician-boyfriend Mikee Morada.
It turns out, the couple have been engaged since December and Alex’s birthday post was a throwback of that special moment.
Alex’s sister Toni Gonzaga congratulated the couple in her Instagram story.
“Thank you for all your birthday greetings! I feel LOVED. Thank you Jesus! Vlog tomorrow,” she said in her post on Thursday night.
In her vlog uploaded on Friday, Alex revealed that Morada already asked for her hand in marriage last December 27 while they were strolling along 1881 Heritage in Hong Kong.
In the later part of the video, Morada can be seen bending on one knee and pulling out a ring from a box. After the proposal, Alex was seen flaunting her ring with Morada beside her.
“Finally natanong na niya (he finally popped the question)!” she said in her vlog.
Alex’s parents were also in Hong Kong with them to witness the surprise.

Celebrities also dropped congratulatory messages to the newly-engaged couple.
“Congrats Ate and Mikee!” TV host Luis Manzano told his friend.
“Love you! Excited for you!” TV host and actress Dianne Medina said.
Gonzaga and Morada celebrated their third anniversary last October.
