Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 16) — Six people died and six people were injured in the fire that razed homes in Tondo in Manila City early Thursday morning, officials said.
The blaze broke out around 2:38am in the residential area of Yuseco Street in Abad Santos in Tondo. It quickly reached the third alarm at 2:59am.
Officials declared the fire under control at 3:53am.
At least 50 houses of around 100 families were affected by the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Manila fire marshall John Joseph Jalique said a mother and her three children died. Two people were also found in other houses.
