
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 27) — Singer Darren Espanto proved that he is more than his talent as he graduated from senior high school with honors and also received other special awards.
The 18-year-old performer proudly shared on Instagram his graduation photos.
“I thought it was impossible to achieve this. Thankful that I did not doubt myself […] It is true that HARD WORK PAYS OFF,” said Espanto in his post.
Espanto, a finalist in the singing competition The Voice Kids, graduated first honor under a home schooling program.
Espanto also thanked his family for helping him balance his work and studies.
“Thank you to my family and most especially to God for the wisdom and guidance. #NeverGiveUp,” he posted.
The singer’s home schooling program, Home School of Asia Pacific (HAP), also shared on Facebook his achievement.
“Darren finished his Grade 12 homeschool program under HAP’s US school affiliate in Texas named Sanston Academy. His high grades made him qualify for First Honor.”
Espanto also received the Achiever Award and Excellence in Music and Arts.
According to the school, Darren is planning to pursue a degree in business or the medical field.
