
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 2) – Some roads in Manila will be closed to traffic on all Sundays of November, as local authorities expect crowds during the conduct of Bar examinations at the University of Santo Tomas, the Manila Police District announced on Saturday.
The MPD, in an advisory, said that it will implement road closure on P. Noval, Dapitan, AH Lacson Ave., and España Boulevard from 5:00 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 5 p.m. onwards on November 3, 10, 17 and 24.
MPD also added that parking on the said roads will not be allowed during the said hours.
Around 600 security personnel will be deployed in UST, where command posts and emergency lanes will be set up. The city government will also provide an additional assistance to ensure the successful conduct of the Bar examinations.
A total of 8,245 examinees are expected in UST on the first day of the exams.
This year’s Bar examinations committee chairperson is Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Estela M. Perlas-Bernabe.
In a statement, the Office of Bar Confidant said that in case of heavy rains and flooding on the exam dates, 10 SC buses, as well as commuter vans, will be made available to examinees and duty personnel.
Buses will leave exactly at 5 a.m. in the following areas:
A. Quezon City Memorial Circle (two buses);
B. Park and Ride, Lawton, Manila (one bus);
C. Supreme Court Compound, Taft Avenue (two buses);
D. EDSA Magallanes Flyover (beneath the Flyover), Pasay (two buses);
E. Greenbelt and Glorietta, Ayala Center, Makati (two buses); and
F. Marikina Sports Complex (one bus)
