Davao City (CNN Philippines) — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio slammed forensic pathologist Raquel Fortun on Saturday for her Twitter post over the mayor’s pregnancy.
Mayor Duterte released a statement on Friday explaining her absence from the Kadayawan Festival activities. She said it is because she is seven weeks pregnant with triplets and experiencing the challenges of pregnancy.
Following the news, Fortun wrote on Twitter on Saturday, “Too early to rejoice over 7weeker lalo na triplets. Wait for delivery and spare oneself from heartache. PR for Lolo?”
The 38-year-old presidential daughter lashed back at Fortun.
“Public officials need to explain their absence in important events. And when I do get the heartache, it will still be a media blitz and when we defy the odds it will be a PR fiesta and you will still be Miss Bittermelon,” Duterte said in a Facebook post.
She also had an advice for Fortun, “Turn off your Twitter, do your work, mind your own business and spare yourself the heartache.”
Duterte followed it up with another post — a screencap of Lit’s song “My Own Worst Enemy.”
“Your song, Miss Fortun. Hahaha. Hahaha. “It’s no surprise to me I am my own worst enemy. Cause every now and then I kick the living shit out of me. Can we forget about the things I said when I was drunk. I didn’t mean to call you that” “
Fortun said she never doubted Duterte’s pregnancy, even revealing that she has also suffered from miscarriages.
“I never doubted ur pregnancy Mayor Duterte I do wish you well. Had 2 miscarriages myself,” Fortun wrote.
