La Mesa Dam on red alert, preemptive evacuation advised

The La Mesa Dam water level is at 80.05 meters, as of 5 p.m. Saturday. The spilling level is at 80.15 meters.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The La Mesa Dam is on Red Alert on Saturday as heavy rains continue to hit Luzon and Western Visayas.

The La Mesa Dam water level is at 80.05 meters, as of 5 p.m. Saturday. The spilling level is at 80.15 meters.

Jayson Busa of state weather bureau PAGASA advised residents in low-lying areas near Tullahan River to evacuate preemptively to prevent casualties.

He said possible areas of preemptive evacuation include:

Quezon City

– Fairview

– Forest Hills

– Quirino Highway

– Goodwill Homes

– Brgy. Sta. Quiteria

– Brgy. San Bartolome

Caloocan City

– Brgy. Capri
