Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — Two weeks before the event, the organizers of Metro Manila Pride weren’t sure if they had enough money to make it happen this year. Two weeks before the event, a lone gunman killed 49 people and injured 53 more at a gay nightclub in downtown Orlando. But last Saturday, over 3,500 people showed up at Luneta Park, most of them for the first time at such an event — proving that despite all the uncertainty, Pride is something we can all be sure about.
