Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 17) — The 29-year-old star of hit 2014 romantic-comedy film, “That Thing Called Tadhana,” shared on social media he has been sober for almost two years now.
Actor JM De Guzman on Monday posted his sobriety certificate on Instagram.
The actor captioned his post, “2 years this December 2017.”
Actress Angelica Panganiban then commented on the post, saying “Nakaka-miss ka Anthony (I miss you Anthony,” referring to De Guzman’s character in “That Thing Called Tadhana.”
Film director Antoinette Jadaone, who helmed the hit movie, also commented, saying “Ayan na o (There he goes).”
De Guzman has been on showbiz hiatus since 2015, after he starred in the ABS-CBN television drama, “All of Me.”
In 2014, the actor finished a 15-month rehabilitation program for using illegal drugs.
De Guzman has had a history of unprofessional behavior, which made him to lose the lead role in the 2015 film, “#WalangForever.”
He also challenged fellow actor Enrique Gil to a fight in 2015, after Gil disrespected De Guzman’s former girlfriend Jessy Mendiola. De Guzman issued an apology a week later.
