Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 10) — Veteran journalist Tony Calvento has passed away, his son, Sonny, said Monday.
In a Facebook post at 8:31 p.m., Sonny Calvento announced his father’s passing saying his father had “joined Our Creator.” He did not mention the cause of Calvento’s death.
Calvento was a seasoned print and broadcast journalist. He was best known for his crime and investigative show the “Calvento Files,” which aired on local TV station ABS-CBN.
He also wrote a column with the same name for Pilipino Star Ngayon.
Calvento’s remains lie at the Heritage Park in Taguig, Sonny said. He will be cremated on October 14.
