Gary V. reveals he is now free of cancer
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 5) — Multi-awarded musician Gary Valenciano revealed the good news that he is now free of cancer, a year after his heart bypass surgery.
The artist dubbed “Mr. Pure Energy” shared the news on his Instagram page on Thursday.
He recalled the moment he was given the diagnosis that he has cancer in his right kidney was around the time that he was still healing from his bypass procedure in May 2018.
Valenciano said that a few weeks after the life-changing diagnosis, he underwent surgery on June 13, 2018 to remove the cancer.
“Battling with Type-1 diabetes, then a bypass, and kidney cancer… I’m still here and He has been as faithful as ever,” he wrote.
He thanked his family, relatives, friends, millions of fans for keeping him in their thoughts and prayers.
“Those prayers have once again been answered because today after seeing the results of my annual checkup, I am free of cancer. God is good,” he shared.
In July 2018, he said that he was cleared of cancer, but no other details were shared.
Valenciano has made a mark in the music, television, and movie industries with his career spanning for over 35 years.
