Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 24) — A weak weather disturbance in the country will intensify into a tropical depression in the next two days, weather officials said.
In its 11 a.m. update Monday, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low pressure area (LPA) currently in the country may become a tropical depression in the next 48 hours. It will be named “Dodong” once it develops. A tropical depression has wind strength of up to 61 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or habagat will bring cloudy skies, scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Visayas, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Zambales, Bataan and Aurora.
The LPA was last spotted 760 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.
