Yellow alert in Luzon announced

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 10) — A new power alert warning has been issued for Luzon Friday.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said the Luzon grid will be put on a Yellow Alert from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m..

The NGCP says the available capacity is 11,433 megawatts (MW), and expects peak demand to be at 10,524 MW.

No announcements for possible rotational brownouts have been announced. However, the NGCP said the DOE would give notice on the reason behind the alert status within the day.
