Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 11) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday threatened to fire more officials for corruption.
“Next week, when I fly back to report to work, before I leave for China, marami akong tatanggalin [I will sack plenty of people],” Duterte said during the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) campaign rally in Bacolod City.
He, however, did not mention which officials will be sacked.
On Saturday, Duterte said he will fire more people, including an official who had the “ability to convert.” He did not elaborate.
Duterte is slated to go to the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing later this month.
