Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 28) — The anticipated wax figure of Miss Universe 2015 winner Pia Wurtzbach has been unveiled to the public online on Thursday.
The wax figure which bares an uncanny resemblance to the beauty queen, immortalized the moment Wurtzbach crowned her successor Iris Mittenaere. It will be displayed at Hong Kong’s Madame Tussauds museum.
The piece shows Wurtzbach donning her blue Michael Cinco-designed gown holding up the crown. She later revealed Cinco recreated the same dress just for her figure to wear. She also shared that the measurement process in the making of the statue took about four hours to complete.
In her Instagram account’s livestream of the reveal, the beauty queen herself is seen taking photos with the figure, wearing the same gown and exact makeup style as her waxed double. She was joined by Madame Tussauds General Manager Jenny You and representatives from Cathay Pacific at a press launch in EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City.
Wurtzbach said she was pleased with the replication.
“I just felt really good at the time so I guess that radiates,” she said.
Wurtzbach later posted a photo with her wax figure on Instagram, thanking her loved ones for their support.
“Dedicating this to my family, loved ones, and to all Filipinos! Maraming salamat sa suporta [Thank you so much for the support] all these years,” she said.
The wax figure will be displayed at the Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City for public viewing on Friday.
